Five clubs came together to have a kick-out and sword-bash on a rainy Sunday morning.
Starting the day, Masters Angela Caldwell and Garry Carpenter gave updates on the rule changes in Kyorugi and Poomsae. Both Masters are OTU presenters and have been chosen to officiate at the OT President’s Cup and Oceania Taekwondo Championships being held in Tahiti later this year.
The kick out allowed the officials to be able to apply the rule changes to their refereeing and judging.
To add spice to the day, Haidong Gumdo patterns, sparring and paper cutting took place, though due to the rain, Bamboo cutting could not be held – the rain meant there was now where safe for the spectators to stand (something about health and safety).
